Ubicati frontalmente, gli edifici sono rappresentatitivi di due diverse fasi edilizie nello sviluppo del Borgo Pio. Il primo, posto a destra di Via Roma e in origine di proprietà Loffredo, venne ristrutturato nel 1844-46 dai Risoldi, una delle famiglie più importanti della città; esso appartiene al tipo architettonico delle residenze borghesi derivato dai modelli neocinquecenteschi del Sarti. Il secondo, costruito fra 1922 e il 1927 su resti romani forse relativi a saline,è invece pertinente al tipo dell’architettura eclettica ancora superstite in quel periodo.   

Palazzo Risoldi and Palazzo Goglia

The two palaces are one opposite the other and they represent two different phases in the housing of Borgo Pio. The former (on the right of Via Roma) belonged to the Loffredo family in a first time and it was renovated in 1844-46 by the Risoldi, one of the most important families in the town. Its style is an example of middleclass residence which comes from the neo-cinquecento model of Sarti. The latter was built between 1922 and 1927 on Roman ruins which were, perhaps, salt-pans. The palace belongs to that eclectic architecture still surviving in that period.
