Di forma quadrata, come mostrano I resti dei muri di base, la torre aveva probabilmente funzione di avvistamento. Essa era parte integrante di un sistema di fortificazione più ampio che nel basso Medioevo fu installato nell’area antica del “campo trincerato” e di cui restano oggi tracce significative. Risale al XIII secolo, come indicano la tecnica costruttiva e i frammenti ceramici ritrovati nei pressi.   

Medieval tower

Square shaped as we can realize from the ruins of the base-walls, probably it had the function of a sighting station. It was one of the towers belonging to a larger fortification which had been built during the low Middle Ages in the ancient area of the “entrenched camp” whose important remains are evident. The building technique and the ceramic fragments found all around show that the tower dates back to the 13th cent.
